Passenger flies from Amsterdam to Madrid. onnecting flight to San Jose (SJO) was scheduled by Iberia so that the passenger would have exactly 60 minutes transfer time. A minimum of 65 minutes is widely considered to be needed to transfer from terminal 4 to 4S (http://www.spanish-airports.com/madrid/terminal-transfers.php). The flight was delayed. As a result, the passenger, and around 15 other passengers, missed the connecting flight. When the passenger arrived to the gate, the plane was still on the ground. In fact, Iberia staff allowed one passenger to board still, and refused all others. Iberia employees were slow to find flights for the passengers who missed this connectio , meaning she missed the opportunity to get on the next flight to SJO. Passenger waited for 13 hours at Madrid airport. request for a hotel was denied. not informed by Iberia of her potential right to a refund because of this delay. arrived more than 24 hours late to destination SJO.

Gewenste oplossing

EUR 600 for missing her connecting flight on October 10. Under European regulation nr. 261/2004, passenger has a right to this amount as her connecting flight would fly more than 1500 kms.
