De klacht

I apologise for not writing in Dutch as my level is not high enough to express myself properly.
Last month I applied for a Simyo contract through Belsimpel.nl. I send all required documents, but then I got a second request to send a copy of a Dutch ID. I said that I am a EU citizen (Greek) and that a Dutch ID should not be required. They replied that this is a requirement by Simyo (and by the way not from any other provider!). I really wanted that offer so emailed Simyo directly. They said that according to their "Algemene Voorwaarden" they have the right to ask for a Dutch ID. I explained that according to the European Laws this is not allowed and that it's discriminatory. After not replying on that they said that I could send my work permit/visa instead! I explained that as a EU citizen in a EU country I don't have *or* need a permit. They completely ignored my questions on the legal status of their requirement. I contacted the Consumentenbond and they confirmed the discrimination.

De oplossing

I want the problem resolved, my documents accepted and get the offer I applied for.

    Dear Mr. Pappos,At Simyo it is possible to apply for a subscription with a Dutch ID card/driver's license, or when you are not a Dutch citizen, with a residence permit. I understand your situation is different, since you are a EU citizen, and don't need a residence permit for staying in the Netherlands.
    I'm sorry that we couldn't answer you properly right away, but this is a situation which hardly ever occurs with us. Most foreign customers do have some sort of Dutch identification, at least a citizen service number, when they work in the Netherlands.
    We are now investigating how you can become a customer, and which documents we do need from you.

    Thank you for your prompt reply. I will email you again and I hope that the matter will be finally solved. You simply rejected it!Anyway, I will contact you soon by email.

    They just ignore me. They asked me to contact them and so I did . I have sent them 3 emails during these 2 weeks and they never replied back.
